Because I haven’t listened to this song in about 6 years! Turn it up and dance around! I used to listen to Pinback daily. I love that clean sound they have. I was lucky enough to see them once in Seattle and an old friend of mine even had a connection with them and got me on the guest list ooOOoo (yes, I can see that I am bragging). Too bad I was like 19 and had to stand in the balcony.
I think it’s a Pinback day today. Any favorites?

I’ve learnt something new! (Ah, no I didn’t knit that.) I taught myself how to knit (with some help from youtube). I made a scarf. Go me, now I want to make dozens. Ryan was sat next to me on the couch reading the paper while I was knitting away. Totally an old married couple scene. Well, looks like everyone’s getting scarves this Christmas.

My Brother had is 27th birthday yesterday! I had a huge headache attack so I didn’t get to post anything. Anyway - he is a travelling machine right now. I never know which state or country he’s in! I think Hawaii is next then back to Japan. Have fun and be safe – miss you. Gaga loves you. Best brother ever. Happy Birthday blood!

That was James Dean. Yeah, look at him go! I’ve been a fan for a long time but I didn’t know he practiced ballet. There was a time that I had lots of pictures and posters in my room and maybe even a cardboard cut out.
Anyway I bought my ballet shoes today. I got black ones because…well it’s just what I’m used to buying. Kind of wish I had pink now that I realised it’s BALLET (hello – pink shoes duh) no one in the class has black and I’m just showing off my black-sheepness even more. Kinda more nervous than the first day.
I’ve got to figure out how to sew on the straps now.

Today is my BFF’s birthday! I met her fifteen years ago on my first day of jr. high, waiting at the bus stop. It all went downhill from there!! Can you believe that, Brittany? We’re OLD. Miss you ho.<3

These little collages are so addicting! This one was a little more difficult because it wasn’t the most memorable video ever and there were so many SUPER 90’s cliché outfits in the video. Not sure how I ended up with leather shorts and ankle boot/cloggy/heel/buckle/lace-ups? I had to throw cheap 90’s hair gel in there too. I haven’t used Dep since I was in middle school.
If you can think of or Google the top 90’s videos then you can figure this one out. We all sang it. I may have sung it more than most people.
Friday’s MVD was indeed:
Thanks for all the comments on the last post! I really did like the classes and I may have even tapped (barefoot) along to some YouTube tap videos – this guy is SO cheesy but made it really easy to follow along. I say do what you think is fun when it comes to exercise and just getting off your butt.

Yesterday’s MVD was:
I went to the first ballet class yesterday. I showed up looking like a proper ballerina – bun and all (no tutu, but leggings). Oh…my god it was pretty hard. I mean, I have no background in dancing aside from out with the girls and all that. There were about 15 girls mostly my age and a few middle aged ladies. They ALL knew what they were doing except for two girls who quickly became my buddies. One of them told me she was kicked out of the other classes. I asked why but she quickly changed the subject – awesome. The other was just barefoot.
We started off with some semi easy stuff then after that it went downhill. The teacher had me spinning across the room in front of everyone. *RED*
I did like it but I forgot everything she told me so quickly and everyone seemed to be picking it up super fast. After an hour of “ballet”, everyone stayed for the Beginners Tap class. So what did I do? I TAPPED. I grabbed a pair of one size too small tap shoes (bad idea but had to get them on fast to join in). Everyone was already shuffling and stepping when I got in and there were no spots in the back, lucky me! I still had no idea what I was doing but I did manage to get a few steps down. I have to admit that it was more fun and the instructor played DISCO so I was all about it. I even threw in a few moves which probably looked super uncool but I was having too much fun. There were moments when I felt like I was training for Glee or MADE.
good posture sore back and blistered feet! I loved it. I just loved doing something completely different. But now which class do I go to next week?

Since I love the Living in’s so much, I decided to make my own little collage of a certain music video. Let’s see if you can guess what it is… (((I thought this would be EASY ladies! *hint* Think 90’s.)))
-My favorite scrub (and apparently UK’s too). I also love those cheap strawberry masks with little seed pieces in them & homemade sugar scrubs.
-Gummy worms & strawberry dip…sticks.
-No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara that comes with a *free* eye palette (colors are okay). I’ve never ever bought any other kind of mascara other than the basic Maybelline’s pink and green tube mascara. I had one of those £5 off the brand coupons and it came with the free palette. So £7 for apparently amazing mascara and some eye shadow. Thanks for the tip Makeup Savvy.
-Probably my 6th pack of cleaning wipes in a month because I get all weird and use them on doorknobs and all that.
-Gillette razors because I finally gave in earlier this year and bought a decent razor instead of the disposable ones. I still get the jingle in my head every time shave my legs. I’mmm your Venussss!
-2 for 1 face wipes. I only use these when we travel because they dry my skin out. I <3 Simple’s products.
-SPIDER’S BE GONE Apparently “it’s that time of year” here and the spiders are out to scare the heck out of us. I wasn’t that bad with spiders but when Ryan gets freaked well then there is just no hope. He does eventually catch them and put them outside though – thank you. I sprayed this chestnut extract around the door frame and windows right when I got home…while talking to the spider that is just hanging out by the door. He is brave. The others only come out at night. The lady that I bought it from also said when I go chestnutting (oh mhm right..) just put them on the windowsill and it will help.
-What’s missing?? My ballet shoes. I went to get them today and the shop was closed. The first class is today so wish me luck!

I did something a little crazy and booked (ADULT BEGINNERS) ballet classes. Adult beginners sounds like I’ll be surrounded by …adults. People still mistake me for being 18 (blessing/curse).
The studio is literally right in front of our building so why not, right? No excuses. Unless it’s really hard…but it shouldn’t be. It’s a good change and I need to tone up. I need to get my stretch on! My first class is on Thursday.
Ok, I know a few ballet classes isn’t going to make me grow boobs and turn my body into the one above but a girl can dream, can’t she?!
Cue Flashdance audition!
Look at that hair go! Maybe I should show up tomorrow in that wig.
photo via oh my gosh i can’t find the link – anyone??
Not much has been going on around here lately (always an exciting intro). I finally
gave up on and ruined finished staining the £15 record player. Let’s just say I’m not the best at that kinda stuff and I’m glad we didn’t pay very much for the piece. Poor thing has a giant obnoxious and free (:D – thank you in-laws!) TV on it. I can already see it bowing. *sigh*
The other random photos are from our bedroom, oo la la! The netting was left over from the wedding. I’ve always wanted one of those romantic mosquito netted beds so I threw it on the lantern. It didn’t work obviously so I gave up and just tucked it in. It’s….interesting.
Last photo is our front window which I’ve posted plenty of times. I love those little mini plants & pots. Our friend THE WIND blew one of them over and broke one so it’s naked. I’m really surprised at how long our plants have lasted. I think it has been around 4 or 5 months. It must be a record for me.

I think I’ve mentioned before that I haven’t had pierced ears since I was in my late teens. I’ve had them done a few times but just couldn’t be bothered. Well luckily for me (and you) Summer, an old friend of mine has just opened her fabulous little Etsy shop called FolksyChic and has clip on earrings!!!! She also has book clovers that I think look like clutch bags – how chic.

Zara being online is A W E S O M E and
about damn time dangerous. This bag reminds me of my Mom’s old bags. It might just be because it’s leather and I’ve got nostalgic incense burning. I don’t buy bags often but when I do they are usually cheap, black and for life…or at least a six months. Really, I hardly ever change my bag. It’s such a hassle.
I think the best thing about Zara being online is that now Ryan can buy his work shirts without going to the mall (because he absolutely hates it).
I <3 you Zara.
