K, I lied…there is a little bit of snow. You’re lookin’ at it. Looks like a 1st grade classroom in here!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and for the for the English – hope you had just a good, normal Thursday. Ryan surprised me and HE cooked instead. It turned out great. We’ll be having Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches for lunch.
Tomorrow my awesome friend Anna is getting married to her Bean! Really wishin we could have made the trip up there on their big day. We’re going to have to plan a night to play the Mr. & Mrs. board game. Any other married couples want to join? We all have to hang out together now that we’re old married folk! So excited for you Anna! You’re going to have a magical day, I know it.
A friend of ours is having a birthday this weekend. The party is themed – Mutton Dressed as Lamb. Which means I’ve got to dress younger than my age or something. Not sure what to do as I already look like I’m 15. I told Ryan he should totally go as Bieber. Maybe I can be his groupie or something.
Have a good Friday!

Welp it’s Thanksgiving Day. Yes, I live in England now and of course no one celebrates Thanksgiving but I’ve got to keep our American traditions and holidays alive. If we ever have kids I will have to stuff their faces with stuffing because that’s just what Mom’s do. The rules are: You sleep in and eat at like 3 or 4 in the afternoon so that you can continue to eat until you pass out and blame it on the turkey. Does it really make you tired or is that just what parents say? Turkey all day then turkey for lunch and dinner for the next week. I did love having mashed potatoes all the time and my favorite had to be the spinach casserole. I love spinach. I just made a spinach pizza last night. Spinach!
So this year is a little different but I’m going to attempt to make a Thanksgiving dinner for two. I’ve never really made a full Thanksgiving dinner before so it should be easy. I’ve helped my Dad cook one year (and the last year we did that) it was way to crazy, hectic, messy and tiring. Ok so anyway dinner for two. I’d love to make the classics. I’ll have to make a mini spinach casserole, mashed potatoes and I’ve got my fingers crossed for canned cranberry sauce but I can almost guarantee they wont have it. I’m pretty sure they (the British grocery stores) also wont have those weird onion things you put on top of the green bean casserole.
Wow…I am whining about how I won’t find dehydrated onions and canned cranberry sauce! *sigh*
I guess I should list what I am thankful for…
x the planes we took landing safely (5 times)
x my handsome main dish
x friends and family all across the world – wish I could be with you and eat all of your Thanksgiving foods.
x holy crap i just got teary
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving guys

I think I may be the only one excited about it possibly snowing tomorrow!! I haven’t been in snow since living in Washington about 7 years ago. I used to live in Chicago too and I can’t really remember a time when it wasn’t snowing. So my fingers are crossed and sorry for everyone that has to drive and walk in it but Katie wants snow!

I need this in my life! I am always the one that brings marshmallows to the bbq. Even though we can’t get Hershey’s chocolate or graham crackers or plain white marshmallows. I will be ok with actually yummy chocolate, BISCUITS, and pink n’ white marshmallows. How perfect is this for a gift? wink wink nudge nudge. I keep watching shows like Come Dine With Me and Dinner Date. I think if they broke this out at the end of the date they’d be set. nom nom nom

This is what the sky looks like in England. The view from our place. One day we’ll have something pretty to look out onto while we’re swinging on our porch swing. I don’t mind the fog and rain. Ryan thinks I’m crazy but It’s not that bad. I guess I’ve had a few breaks from it and he has known rain his whole life. I tell everyone it’s worth it in the spring and summer. This is the longest I’ve been in England and it’ll be my first proper winter. Ryan says, “ohh, just wait”. I’m at three layers.

A little video of our trip.
We’re back in cold, rainy, foggy, LOVLEY England again and trying to get our sleeping back on track (not really, it’s 4am). It’s so hard getting things back to normal when we were 8 hours ahead. Ryan is back to work and we’re back to real life. I’ve got my dance classes again on Thursday and I haven’t been in over 3 weeks so it’s going to be rough and wobbly (I make it sound like I’m an actual dancer…psh). I’m going to try and get some Yoga practice in these next few days so it isn’t so bad.
Thanks to everyone that left the lovely comments about out trip photos. We were so happy to be back in the states but it is nice to be in our own place. I really needed this trip. Before we flew out there I was really missing America. Of course I always miss family and friends but I didn’t think I’d miss the places much – even Ryan was sad to leave.
I have a feeling I’m going to have trip withdrawal like most people do when they get back from a little holiday. I’ve got some plans to keep myself busy and crafty things to do to occupy my mind. I guess I should start the job hunt again so I can actually buy people things for Christmas. It’s creeping up on us fast.
We’re spending our FIRST Christmas together. This is also the first Christmas away from family but I don’t want that to get me down. There will be lots of Christmas’s to spend with everyone at different times. I usually get the blues this time of year and I plan to turn that around. Can’t wait to get our first tree, buy our first ornaments and wrap secret presents.
What am I saying?! I still have to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Don’t think just because I’m in England now that I’m not eating a Thanksgiving dinner!
It’s time to unpack these bags so they don’t taunt me.

(some of) What happened in Vegas:
- We met the second cutest dachshund on the planet.
- Ryan tried In-N-Out for the first time and loved it. I just inhaled it without tasting it.
- I pinched the cheeks of my bff’s new bb boy.
- Scored a pair of $7 Keds at Ross and my new favorite pair of black heels at Khol’s. ( I <3 when I find bargains and so does my Husband.)
- Cooked a giant family dinner with Ryan. I felt like I was on Top Chef.
- Speaking of Top Chef, I got tons of Bravo TV time in. I know we’re on vacation but I miss Bravo shows!
- Found my new favorite casino/hotel/shops/loungy lounges in Vegas – City Center…gorgeous. Maybe one day I can actually buy something in there.
- Saw two regular sized, one frozen and one tiny Elvis.
- Ate real Mexican food. omg.
- Been the closest ever to two beautiful, sleeping Lionesses.
- Realized about 100 times just how PALE I am.
- Went to M&M heaven.
- Got dressed up with Ryan and went to a romantic dinner to celebrate five months of married life. Ended the night sharing a crème brulee.
- Saw the Bellagio fountain show with my man & friends.
- Met up with Dad and his gf for just a day. I showed them City Center and ate Wolfgang Puck Pizza. We saw ugly, over priced home decor in the Venetian and dined at Red Square – ahmazing food & drinks. It’s too bad my dress was too tight. They made me try a yummy key lime pie martini, first martini & last martini ever. Dessert in a glass is dangerous.
- Won a little bit on my most favorite slot machine – Wizard of Oz. It’s even worth losing a couple of bucks just to play it.
- Stocked up on American things like kool aid, dressings & candy.
- Hated saying goodbye’s again but we’re excited to go back to the states next year. Thank you and miss you all!!!!xxx
I think it’s time for a new camera. These are some sad photos. It does help me enjoy the moment more when I know I can’t capture it the way I’d like to. There is only so long I can get away with the old point and shoot. Asking Santa!!
